How to Make Your Temporary Tattoo Look Real

Tattoos are permanent, which is why deciding to get one requires a lot of thinking and contemplation. If youāve been on the rocks about getting a tattoo and making a decision you canāt take back, you should consider trying out a temporary tattoo first.
Temporary tattoos work like stickers. They come with backing paper, transfer film, and silicone release coating that protects the ink and adhesive. You simply stick them on your skin and apply moisture to transfer the design.Ā
Because of their composition, they will leave a shiny gloss on your skin that makes them look like stickers instead of genuine ink. But the good news is that there are ways to make a temporary tattoo look real.
All you need is a razor, some rubbing alcohol, cotton balls, baby powder, hairspray, and of course, a temporary tattoo sticker.
How to make a fake tattoo look real?
To get the most realistic look for your tattoo you will have to shave the area you are applying the tattoo. This ensures there are no hairs under your tattoo, which would be a dead giveaway that your tattoo is temporary.
After shaving, clean the area using rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and allow the area to dry completely.
Next, wet your sponge so it is damp, not soaked. Peel the clear plastic cover off the tattoo and place the tattoo face-down onto your designated area and hold it in place with the damp sponge, applying pressure as you hold it.
Slowly peel the paper away from your arm.
After you have removed the paper and your tattoo is fully adhered to your skin, dust the area with baby powder or translucent powder (found in most cosmetics stores).
Finally, spray the tattoo with hairspray or finishing spray.
And there you have it! Your tattoo will look realistic, and youāll be ready to show it off. Make a temporary tattoo with a custom design and youāll have your friends convinced that itās the real thing.
