How do I Provide Proof of Tax Exemption for My Order?

In this short video, we will show you how to upload your proof of tax exemption and update your order with your tax-free status.

Step 1

Make sure you are logged into your account at stickeryou.com. Then navigate to your shopping cart. You must first provide us with your shipping address, name, and email. This information must match the details on your documents so we can verify your tax-exempt status.

Step 2

Below the "Proceed to Payment" button, click "Click here to submit a tax exemption certificate."

Step 3

Accept Avalara's terms and conditions. Then sign in or sign up for an Avalara account, ensuring that your email matches the email used on your tax-exempt forms and StickerYou account.

Step 4

Next, it will email a code to the email you used to create your account. Check your email inbox for the code, then copy it into the box provided. 

Step 5

The next step is to provide the details for your company. Confirm that your details match the shipping address provided for your order and click next.

Step 6

Now you will need to provide the details for StickerYou. Copy the following to Avalara:
Company name: StickerYou
Country: Canada
Primary Address: 670 Caledonia Rd Unit 101
City: York
State: ON
ZIP/Postal Code: M6E 4V9
When you have entered this, click next.

Step 7

Next select the type of documentation you want to provide by choosing your State and tax-exempt reason.

Step 8

In most cases, you will need to upload a copy of the file in PDF format. Click the "Upload" button to proceed, then drag and drop your file onto the page or click "Browse instead" to select the file from your device's file system.
Some states and tax-exempt reasons require forms that can be filled out directly through Avalara. If this is the case, for you, follow the on-screen instructions to provide the required information.

Step 9

Once you have uploaded your file or completed the form provided, you will be redirected to the Avalara home page. From here, click "Enter and save your signature." Provide your name, title and signature for confirmation.

Step 10

Then you can return to the StickerYou website. You will see a message when returning to the tab notifying you that it may take a few minutes to register that the tax exemption status has been applied. Close the pop-up and click the "Update Tax Rate". Once you see that no tax has been charged, you can proceed to check out.
