What should I do if my order is on hold?

At StickerYou, we want your custom creations to look perfect when they arrive at your door. Sometimes, during our quality control stage, our Art team will notice something that won't print quite right. If that happens, we’ll temporarily place your item on hold and reach out to you to request a new file or your input on how you would like to proceed.

Here is a simple guide on how to navigate the review process and get your order back on track!

1. Keep an eye on your inbox.

When an item is flagged, you will receive an automatic email from us with the subject line: "ACTION REQUIRED - Your StickerYou Order Has Item(s) On-Hold". This email thread will list the items that have been flagged, as well as the reason for our concerns.

To get started, simply click the "Log In to Review on-hold" button in the email, and it will take you to your StickerYou account to review.

2. Choose how you want to proceed.

Once you log in, you’ll see a list of exactly why each item was flagged, as well as the next steps we recommend to fix the issue. You have three options to move forward from the review page.

  • Add a New File
  • Add Notes
  • Approve as-is

3. Managing the Deadline

Most on-hold items are initially held for 18 hours. You can track your remaining time via the live "Deadline for approval" countdown timer located on your review page. If we do not hear back from you before this deadline expires, your order may be canceled or sent to print exactly as it was originally placed.

Not ready yet? You can extend the hold by clicking "Request more time". You can choose an extension of up to 48 hours, and the menu will tell you if your selection will impact your estimated delivery date.

If you’re still feeling stuck, click "I need more help" to access our FAQs or start a Live Chat with one of our experts.

We’re here to make sure you love your stickers! By taking a moment to review these flags, you’re ensuring your final product is exactly what you envisioned.

Common Reasons items are Flagged

Blank Sticker
We did not receive a file to print for your order. Please provide us with a file you would like to print.

Checkered Background
Your order was flagged because your design contains a checkered background, which usually indicates transparency in the file; however, in this file, the pattern itself is visible and will print.

Contrast
Your order was flagged because your design contains low contrast, meaning parts of it, most often the text, are blending into the background and may be hard to see when printed. Please upload a new file with greater contrast, or leave us a note if you would like us to change the color of your text or background.

Die Cut Wrong
Your order was flagged to confirm if the cut line in the preview is correct. Review the image of your design. If the dotted line around your image does not reflect the cut you want to use, pleaseleave our team a note, and they can adjust this for you.

Drop Shadows / Transparency
Your order was flagged as the file you have uploaded includes drop shadows or transparent areas. We cannot print partial transparencies on the material you selected; only 100% opacity ink will print. Any areas of your design with less than 100% opacity may be removed or printed incorrectly. Please provide a new file without transparencies or drop shadows for the best print quality.

Fuzzy Image
Your order was flagged as the file you have uploaded appears blurry and pixelated. Your file meets resolution requirements, but the artwork itself appears out of focus. This can happen when an image is scaled up, compressed, or sourced from screenshots or social media. While it may look acceptable on screen, this pixelation can become more noticeable when printed. We recommend uploading a clearer version of the image, ideally the original file created at the final print size, to ensure the best print quality.

Intricate Cuts
Your requested cut line is quite intricate, so unfortunately, we are unable to cut it exactly to the shape you requested. Review the image of your design. The dotted line around your image shows the cut we would recommend instead. If you would like to make further changes, please upload a new file or leave our team a note, and they can adjust this for you.

Keep White
This means that white areas in your design will be printed in white ink instead of being transparent. Your order was purchased on a clear material, so we want to confirm that this is correct, as it will result in a visible white background.

Low Resolution
Your order has been flagged because the file you provided is too small for the size of the product you have selected. It will need to stretch significantly to fill the space, which can cause it to appear pixelated or fuzzy.
The dimensions of a file are what determine the resolution. The number of pixels in the image or DPI (dots per inch), are used to measure resolution, and the more, the better. We recommend a DPI of 300 to 350 for your image to print clearly. So, how large you want the file to print will determine the number of pixels you will need. This can be calculated as 300 x the length and 300 x the width.

Multiple Images
This means your file contains more than one design within a single sticker layout. For individually cut stickers, each sticker can only contain one design, so multiple images cannot be cut separately from the same file. We flag this to confirm whether the layout was intentional before proceeding.
If you ordered sticker pages, we can cut each design separately; if you ordered individually cut stickers, the order will need to be canceled, so a new order with one design per sticker can be placed.

No Clear
The product you have purchased is a clear material.  If we proceed with your current design, it will cover the material completely, leaving no clear areas. The print will be slightly translucent as the material is not opaque.

If you prefer an opaque print, we would recommend a white material instead so that no light will show through the product. Unfortunately, we cannot change the product type after an order has been placed, so if this is how you would like to proceed, we would need to cancel the current order so you can place a new one for the white material instead.

Proportions
The size of your image does not match the proportions of the product you have ordered. The product you have purchased is larger than your artwork is, leaving excess white space around the design. We want to confirm if you would prefer we shrink your product to fit the proportions of your image. If your design has a background, we can keep the product proportions and extend the background color to fill the white space.

Small Text
The text in your design is too small for us to guarantee it will print clearly. We recommend editing the design to make the text larger, then submitting an updated file. All the text in the design should be at least size 8 pts or 2.822 mm in the final print file.

Small QR Code
The item was flagged as the QR code in your design is too small, which could prevent it from scanning properly on all devices. For reliable results, the QR code should be at least 2 x 2 inches.

Thin Lines
Thin lines refer to parts of your design where the line thickness may be too narrow to print clearly at the final size. Very thin lines can appear faint, broken, or disappear entirely once printed. This is flagged to help prevent loss of detail in the finished product. Please click the link in the email you received to provide an updated file with thicker lines; we recommend a minimum line thickness of 0.16 in (0.41 cm) at the final print size for best results.

Thin Text
The text in your design is too thin for us to guarantee the design will print clearly. We recommend editing the design to make the text larger or using a bolder font, then submitting an updated file. All the text in the design should be at least size 8 pts or 2.822 mm in the final print file.

Watermarks
A watermark is a faint logo, text, or pattern over your image that usually shows it’s a protected or sample file. It can appear on your printed product if included in the file.

Where Substrate
The product you have purchased is Glitter, Holographic, Foil, or Glow in the Dark. If we proceed with your current design, it will cover the material completely, so you will not be able to see the specialty product you have selected. We recommend adjusting your design to include a transparent portion so the material can be seen.

White on Holographic or Glitter
The product you have purchased does not print with any white ink. Any of the areas in your design that are white will be transparent when printed and will show the glitter/holographic material instead. If you prefer these be printed with white ink, our Product Expert Team can help you create a custom order.

White on White
The product you have purchased is a white material, but the file you provided also contains white, meaning your design will blend into the background and not be visible when printed. We suggest uploading a new file that uses another color, or connecting with our customer service team if you would prefer to cancel this order and choose a clear product instead.
